About us

The Wyoming State Fair officially started in 1905 in Douglas, Wyoming. The fair has always been an event that has showcased the culture and heritage of Wyoming. The Wyoming State Fair has been a gathering point for generations of families, while providing a quality educational experience and entertainment for all who have attended. The Wyoming State Fair is a celebration of all things Wyoming and showcases our pride in our agriculture, education, youth and western lifestyle.

A bull rider wearing a white hat, blue chaps, and protective vest leans on a fence from horseback, watching a rodeo arena at sunset as a crowd fills the grandstands behind him.
An aerial view of a rodeo arena at the Wyoming State Fair shows a large American flag stretched across the dirt arena by volunteers, surrounded by a full grandstand, nearby buildings, and the North Platte River in the background.

Our Value Pillars

Agriculture

Agriculture

Rooted in our state’s rich agricultural heritage, we proudly support and showcase the farming and ranching communities that sustain our economy and way of life. From livestock exhibits to crop displays, we honor the traditions of agriculture while educating the next generation on its importance.

Education

Education

We are committed to learning, growth, and the future. We foster a spirit of curiosity and a deeper understanding of Wyoming’s vital industries through hands-on exhibits, interactive demonstrations, and agricultural education programs, such as Everyday Ag and Resources of Wyoming.

Youth

Youth

Empowering Wyoming’s young people is at the heart of everything we do. From 4-H and FFA competitions to youth-led initiatives, we provide a platform for the next generation to showcase their talents, develop leadership skills, and embrace Wyoming’s unique heritage.

Western Lifestyle

Western Lifestyle

Embodying the spirit of the West, the fair is a celebration of Wyoming’s rugged charm and enduring values. From rodeo events to Western heritage displays, we keep the cowboy culture alive and thriving for visitors of all ages and backgrounds.
