Wyoming to Take the National Stage at the Great American State Fair in Washington, D.C.
Douglas, WY — The State of Wyoming will be represented on a national stage this summer as a featured State Pavilion at the Great American State Fair, taking place June 25 through July 10, 2026, on the National Mall in Washington, D.C.
As part of the nationwide celebration of America’s 250th anniversary, the Great American State Fair will bring together states and territories from across the country to highlight their unique cultures, industries, and traditions. Wyoming’s pavilion will showcase the essence of the state through an immersive and interactive experience centered on its theme: The Way America Used to Be. This theme highlights the original ways of life in America that have been sustained and remain a meaningful part of how Wyoming operates today.
Visitors to the Wyoming Pavilion can expect a dynamic blend of heritage and innovation, featuring agriculture education, Western lifestyle demonstrations, virtual reality experiences, storytelling, and hands-on activations that reflect the people, places, and values that define Wyoming. Honoring a state where cattle outnumber people and rodeo is the official state sport, this exhibit offers a compelling look at Wyoming’s heritage and America’s roots.
“Wyoming is proud to represent our state in Washington D.C. as part of America’s 250th celebration,” said Courtny Hinds, General Manager of the Wyoming State Fair and Wyoming’s State Pavilion Lead. “Our pavilion is a celebration of the history, grit, and authenticity that define Wyoming. It is an opportunity to share not only where we come from, but our way of life, and we invite the world to come experience the Wyoming way.”
Planning and coordination for Wyoming’s pavilion are being led through a collaborative effort anchored by the Governor’s office, State Parks and Cultural Resources, the Wyoming Office of Tourism, and the Wyoming State Fair, working in partnership with statewide agencies, organizations, and industry leaders across the state.
Wyoming is actively seeking partners, donors, and volunteers to help showcase the Wyoming way of life. Financial contributions will directly support the design, transportation, and activation of the Wyoming Pavilion, ensuring a strong and authentic representation of the state on a national stage.
Organizations and individuals interested in supporting Wyoming’s presence are encouraged to contribute through sponsorships or direct donations.
In addition, Wyoming is calling for volunteers to help staff the pavilion throughout the event. Volunteers will serve as ambassadors for the state, engaging with visitors from across the country and around the world to help share Wyoming’s story.
“This is a unique opportunity for Wyoming to show up in a powerful and unified way,” Hinds added. “Whether through financial support or by volunteering your time, there is a place for everyone to be part of this effort. We invite you to join us in bringing Wyoming to life in Washington, D.C.”
